Sweet Sound of Leisure Mixed with Nature equals Blissful Summer Getaway at Hidden Pond Kennebunkport on Maine’s Privileged Coast

summer camps, scout children camping and read map in forest KENNEBUNKPORT, ME, March 2010 – Think the sweet sound of leisure, then stir in the Maine coast’s Hidden Pond, the exclusive private and boutique resort nestled in the woods of Kennebunkport. This summer vacation formula is as good as it gets, especially with such options as cooking classes in your own private cottage and an optional five-star tenting experience shared with family or friends.

Summer 2010 at Hidden Pond promises a chance for guests to relive their childhoods and get back to nature with an array of activities that help to relax, restore and renew. Think Thai Chi or yoga classes practiced alongside Hidden Pond’s organic garden, water color classes taught by the resort’s resident artist, or pampering treatments in the tented forest spa.

Christy Reid, Hidden Pond’s general manager, said that the resort’s focus on engaging guests in this peaceful environment has in just two seasons created an abundance of return guests.

“We’re always on the lookout for experiences and products that will help the process of immersing our guests into a true vacation,” said Reid. “For example, this summer we’re providing stargazing kits for those phenomenal evenings when the night sky drowns us in stars.”

New to Hidden Pond in the 2010 season is the Kids Camp designed for little guests aged three to 12 with activities that incorporate the elements of nature ranging from nature hikes and bird watching to beach safaris and scavenger hunts.

Couples or families alike will also enjoy Hidden Pond’s new luxury tent experience. Guests will arrive at a mystical forest setting complete with a tent decked out to the nines, cozy campfire, and goodies to grill – ghost stories not included. The camp can be enjoyed for the night, and for the truly adventurous, overnight.

Culinary adventures at Hidden Pond include private chef dinners ranging from a romantic in-cottage Forest Clambake for two to a feast for the entire family. Guests may also enjoy a light tapas menu and cocktails at the Back Porch, Hidden Pond’s on site lounge. On select evenings classic BBQs and traditional Lobster Bakes are available at the property’s alfresco Sand Bar. Additionally, Hidden Pond’s concierge is available to secure reservations at one of Kennebunkport’s coveted dining spots. Customized beach picnics and cottage provisioning packages filled with hearty, healthy, seasonal fare may also be arranged.

On site activities at Hidden Pond include a range of activities, including yoga, personal training sessions, Thai Chi, nature walks, stargazing and nightly bonfires. Guests may also enjoy a lushly landscaped pool, cardio cottage, bicycle barn, Tented Spa, beach safaris and organic farm featuring a fresh-picked ‘help yourself’ farm stand.

Hidden Pond, which grand-opened in July 2008, is set upon 60 acres of balsam and birch groves in the woodlands of Kennebunkport just one mile from renowned Goose Rocks Beach. Guests may nestle into an array of 14 two-bedroom designer cottages, which range from retro chic, bohemian or traditional, each featuring large screened porches, gourmet kitchens, outdoor showers and fireplaces.

Nightly rates at Hidden Pond are from $425 to $785 per night, per cottage depending on season. For additional information on Hidden Pond and seasonal experiences, please visit www.hiddenpondmaine.com or call 888-967-9050.
