February 2, 2020 by Rob BenshLeave a Comment

When most people imagine visiting Ukraine, they envision its capital city, Kiev. Some people are afraid to travel elsewhere, falsely believing the that country is unstable due to previous wars. As a result, many people tend to overlook the capital. The rest of the country is full of hidden gems, and offers something for every traveler. From the hills topped with the cathedrals to the beaches lining the Black Sea, Ukraine is sure to dazzle you … [Read more...]

A Crazy Stop in La Paz, Boliva

February 1, 2020 by Dave11 Comments

Upon arriving in South America I entered a very familiar airport, Jorge Chavez International Airport. I lingered in Lima for a refreshing shower in the hotel directly across from the airport. Walked back to the departures terminal and tried to sleep for a few hours on the hard floor. Loud music playing at 130am followed by staff cleaning the floors. No sleep tonight. Boarded next flight. Arrived in Cuzco - exited the airport with just enough time … [Read more...]

Route of the Wine, Salta Argentina

January 24, 2020 by Dave2 Comments

Spanning some 500 km of mostly dirt roads, the Salta Route of the Wine is roughly triangular in shape. The largest community by far, Salta is on the northernmost point of this 'triangle' with tiny towns anchoring the other two points including Cafayate and Molinos. Our drive of this route begin in Salta >> Cafayate >> Molinos/Bodega Colome >> back to Salta. Allow at least 5 to 7 days. Start your epic wine journey in Salta - rent a car at the … [Read more...]

Do you take a DLSR or mirrorless camera with you to capture your adventures and travels? Winter in Windsor

December 25, 2019 by Samantha Priestley2 Comments

We recently took a short wintry getaway in Windsor, home of the stunning 11th century Windsor Castle and famous for all things royal. But as we passed the large looming castle and the imposing statue of Queen Victoria, we decided to do Windsor differently. The fact is most tourists do visit for the castle, but if you’ve already taken a tour inside its fortress walls, it’s a bit beyond your budget, or the queues are just too much for you, … [Read more...]

How my Trip to Haiti Came About

December 15, 2019 by Dave9 Comments

My trip to Haiti came about in the most random way. Haiti was my last country to visit in the Caribbean - it has certainly been on my radar for some time. A friend took a trip to Cap Haitien in the northern part of the country and spoke highly of his time there. I signed up for the American Airlines Aviator card - made a few purchases in the first few months triggering 60,000 miles. I soon turned around and cashed in those miles for this trip - … [Read more...]
